A SpaceX rocket, fresh from its July 24 test flight in Texas, has been spotted drifting off the island's coast. For David Watchorn, chair of the Christmas Island Tourism Association, the sight was astonishing.
Initially mistaking it for ships on the horizon, he soon realized that this was something entirely different – a 52 meter long space rocket being towed into the Indian Ocean.
