Good old Camden Town. I was born there, y’know. That’s probably why I have such an affinity for it, or maybe it’s just because it’s London’s rock ‘n’ roll hot spot. And you can say what you want, but I could swear that it loves me back! I’ve had so many good times there, so many happy memories, so many amazing gigs rocking out to bands that I love. Camden always feels like I’m coming home. Camden treats me good.
What has me pretty convinced that there is something magic about it is an incident that occurred recently. I’d bought my mum and I tickets to go see Daughtry, ’cause she loves that dude, at the Eventim Apollo. Because we had some time to kill I suggested that we go for a drink at The World’s End, partly because my mum hadn’t been there before, and partly because I just love that pub so much!! Anyway, after that, we decided to go and have a wander around Camden Market. And as I was trotting along casually, who did I spot mere meters away from me but Brendon Urie!
I couldn’t believe my eyes! Literally, I went up to him and said, “Excuse me, are you Brendon Urie?”. Just in case it was a dude who looked exactly like him, or something.
Of all the people I’d dreamed of bumping into, I never, ever thought I would get to meet Brendon. The dude is a superstar, for Goth’s sake, I didn’t dare to even entertain a grain of hope! But there he was, just buying t-shirts, and he was super nice. He posed for photos with me and my mum!
If we hadn’t stopped for a drink, or if we had done anything differently, this might not have happened. It’s weird to think, huh?
So either I am a super, duper lucky girl, or magic just always happens in Camden Town!
Girl!! How lucky you are:-)) Enjoy the moment!
