My 4 Favourite Rock Bands Of All Time

There are two main passions in my life, animals and music.

Let me clarify, there are so many amazing rock bands out there that I love, but these are my top four. The fact is, I could talk about my favourite bands until the cows come home, I live and breathe this stuff, and it seriously gets me pumped just thinking about it!

I’ve been a fan of all of these guys for ten years plus, so you can probably understand my attachment!

Hoobastank

I think Hoobastank is one of the most underrated bands of all time, I really do! There is not one song or album by these guys that I don’t love without an absolute passion, to me, they just can’t go wrong. I was lucky enough to meet them, too, as well as see them live, and let me tell you, not only are they incredibly talented guys, they are some of the nicest men I have ever met, too.

The Rasmus

These guys are the first ever rock band that I got into. They reeled me in with In The Shadows, black eyeliner, and gothic videos, and I’m eternally in their debt for setting my feet on The Path Of Rock for life! Just think, I could have gone some other way *shudders*.

I also saw The Rasmus in Camden a couple of years ago, and my most vivid memory is of flashing lights, a crazy, pumped atmosphere, and the guys playing Mysteria like there was no tomorrow. What a freaking night!

Placebo

Seeing Placebo play live was honestly one of the most amazing nights of my life! They say a lot of things about Placebo, apparently, they are like Marmite, and you either love them or hate them. They also say, that you never get “casual” Placebo fans, because Placebo fans are the hardcore and forever faithful and loyal.

I personally think Brian Molko’s voice is heavenly, and Placebo is my favourite jogging music!

Linkin Park

Linkin Park is one of my “first love” bands, and to be honest, I have a totally unhealthy obsession with Chester Bennington. But it makes me happy, so, who cares?

I saw them live last year at the 02 Arena, and it was a breathtaking experience, they are just so amazing live. I am so proud of them for how far they have come, and what they have been through to get to where they are. They built Linkin Park out of pure talent, sweat and tears, and just look at them now! I can’t wait to see them live again!

So now you know…

What are your favourite bands?

Rock on!

Very cool list, would have had no idea! I love tons of artists so this list is quite long but some of my favorites are The Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley, Maroon 5, .. list is endless. I enjoy good pop music, but artists like Elliot Smith are on a completely different level!

To be honest I’ve never been totally into rock bands, I’ve always just had such a broad range of music of different genres so I never get super passionate about certain bands haha
I’d love to give all these bands a good listen to, maybe I’ll fall in love just like you did! πŸ˜‰

I love placebo and linkin park, although I guess I am a bit of a ‘casual’ placebo fan as I like them and have several albums, but I’m not hardcore. Linkin park are great though, i have the first Rasmus album but I haven’t heard much else of their stuff, and i like the two well known hoobastank songs ‘the reason’ and ‘crawling in the dark’ but if I’m honest I don’t know much else of theirs.

My favourite band is Muse, I also love the Killers, SOAD and the Offspring. I’ve seen Muse 6 times and SOAD once, but the other two are on my bucket list! I want to see Rammstein too as their show is meant to be incredible!

I love Linkin Park as well, I have almost all their albums! They’ve really done rap/rock right, imo. Hoobastank was one of my favorites as a kid, I have to start listening to them again. We seem to have the same taste in music, so I’ll have to check out the other two bands! You might like TrustCompany and Breaking Benjamin since you’re into rock πŸ™‚

Aw, not all rock bands are very heavy, The Rasmus and Hoobastank have a few tracks that are actually very melodic, so you shouldn’t rule them out completely πŸ™‚
